Tiling Courses Scotland
Tiling Courses Scotland are based in Central Scotland in Coatbridge. We have been training students for over ten years and have found that the majority have been very successful in creating and running their own tiling business. We have also found that many tradesmen, such as plumbers, come to us to learn how to tile because they can’t find a tiler to fit in with their busy timescales
In todays climate, with so many people being made unemployed or their jobs simply disappearing, it has been a huge comfort to many people having a skill that’s not just always in demand but pays well too.
While tiling is not a trade it is certainly a skill that is in major demand. Many of our ex students are booked in advance for 3-4 months or more.
Why not call for a chat with our friendly team, or read below to learn more about what we can do for you.
Our aim is your 100% satisfaction!
NOTE – To ensure we follow the current Covid guidelines, all booths have been separated and shielded to ensure separation from fellow students.
What do Tiling Courses Scotland Do?
We take students who are new or need a refresher, to a level of training that allows them to share their skills in the workplace. They will be sufficiently skilled to install or replace all types of tiling. From floors to walls, bathrooms, kitchens, halls etc.
The course covers everything from
- the customer call
- viewing, measuring and quoting
- Laying out the tiles in the most efficient and attractive fashion
- Ensuring tiles are laid in a fashion where they look best for the wall or floor
- Cutting of the tiles using the many options. Advising what’s best to use and when
- Grouting efficiently
- Polishing for the perfect finish
See the Our Courses page for further information on how to take the next step
Should you require to work on a building site that requires NVQ or CSCS we can advise on how to do this. (Please note that NVQ requires an inspector to come visit and inspect your work on site. It’s not possible to do this in the training environment.)

Why are we Different at Tiling Courses Scotland?

Tiling Courses Scotland offer fast track professional training to a very high standard. The methods we use are at the highest level to get the job done fast. The course has been running for more than ten years and is structured to get maximum learning over to you in the shortest timescale. Many students who have successfully completed our tiling program are successfully running their own businesses.
Our method of teaching is
- Explain It,
- Demonstrate It,
- Practice It.
We also explain, and demonstrate different techniques to complete the same task and have you practice these different techniques.
We have a 100% successful track record with many testimonials over the years. Our course is well structured and the demonstrations are explained clearly. We expect you to achieve a very high standard by the time you leave. Most people cannot believe what they have actually produced.
We only run professional tiling courses, we DON'T run basic courses which leave you unable to go out and work. Going on a course to stick a few tiles on a basic wall with no problems on it and with basic setting out is just an introduction to tiling. Our training teaches you what you need to know when tiling out in the real world of customers jobs, all the different problems to deal with and how to overcome them.
It's constant practice with the tools and materials from start to finish. We will teach you ALL the skills you need to start working as a Tiler and start earning money immediately upon completion of the course. You are taught from the very basics to a high level so that you hit the ground running and immediately able to take up employment or start your own business.
The course lasts 5 days to 10 days depending on your needs and the cost will normally be easily recouped during your first weeks work.
Whether you need 5 days or 10 days the cost is the same!
What can Tilers earn once trained at Tiling Courses Scotland?
It is not unusual for a tiler to be earning £200 to £300 per day. Some charge more or work longer hours thus earning more than this but the average is between £1000 and £1500 per week.
What Qualifications do I Need to Train at Tiling Courses Scotland?
If you require to work on building sites you will need both a CSCS certificate and an NVQ. We can help with advice on how to get both.
You do not need any qualifications to train at Tiling Courses Scotland.
What happens if I need more training or I get stuck when on a site?
If you require a little more training before you are confident to move on then the answer is very clear. We will train you for as long as it takes and we will not ask for a penny more.
If at any time you feel that you need advice when on site, Robert, our vastly experienced trainer, will be more than happy to take any calls to help anyone who’s not sure of the next steps.
What do we NOT do at Tiling Courses Scotland?
Everyone is different but we prefer that customers choose their own tiles and trims. There are so many different choices and colours of both that it’s safer to do it this way. That’s not to say we can’t purchase for them, possibly saving them some money in the process, but we would recommend leaving the choosing to the customer. Similarly if the customer is looking for a coloured grout then it’s best again for the customer to choose this so there’s no possible mismatch on the tilers behalf. We also prefer pre mixed coloured grout to avoid colour mismatches and we can advise why on the course.
Should you not be able to work five days straight then speak to us. We will do our very best to work our training round you.
We can train you to tile, help with company formations, help with clients. A ready made business. Just waiting for you!
